Meds World Mexico does not depend on one pharmacy for every medication we offer. We work with different pharmacy sources in Mexico because stock changes, manufacturers may differ from one region to another, and a medicine that is readily available through one chain today may need to be checked somewhere else the next time it is requested.

Some of the names below are large pharmacy chains that many customers in Mexico already know, while others have a stronger presence in particular regions. We may also work with established independent pharmacies when they meet the requirements applying to their operation and have the product we need. Not every pharmacy on this page is used for every order, and availability shown on a pharmacy’s own retail website can also change independently of Meds World Mexico.

1. Farmacias Similares

Farmacias Similares is probably one of the easiest Mexican pharmacy names to recognize, especially for customers who are looking for generic medicines and lower-cost alternatives to well-known brands. The chain has built its reputation around affordable generics, but its catalog is much broader than one narrow category and includes prescription medicines, over-the-counter products, supplements and other everyday pharmacy items. One of its practical advantages is how familiar the brand has become across Mexico, because customers can usually find both physical branches and an online catalog without having to rely on a small local pharmacy with limited stock.

2. Farmacias del Ahorro

Farmacias del Ahorro opened its first store in 1991 and has since become one of the most familiar pharmacy chains in Mexico, combining traditional pharmacy services with online ordering, home delivery and a large retail catalog. Its selection includes both branded and generic medicines, while the size of the network makes it useful for customers who prefer to compare several presentations or manufacturers instead of depending on a single product option.

Some of the services available through the chain include:

  • Prescription and over-the-counter medicines
  • Generic and branded products
  • Online ordering
  • Home delivery in participating areas
  • Customer service for product and branch questions

3. Farmacias Guadalajara

Farmacias Guadalajara has been part of the Mexican pharmacy market since 1942, but the business eventually developed far beyond the traditional pharmacy counter. Its SuperFarmacia concept, introduced in 1989, combines medicines with convenience-store and supermarket products, which is one reason the chain has become such a visible part of everyday retail in Mexico. Today it reports more than 2,400 locations across the country, while its online store covers a large selection of prescription products, OTC medicines, personal care items, medical devices and other health-related products.

4. Farmacias Benavides

Farmacias Benavides has a particularly broad medication catalog, with separate sections for ordinary pharmacy needs as well as more specialized treatment areas. Its online selection includes medicines connected with cardiology, hypertension, endocrinology, neurology, dermatology, urology, oncology and other specialties, alongside antibiotics, pediatric products, vitamins and everyday healthcare items.

The chain also operates Benamedic medical offices at selected locations and offers online purchasing, branch pickup and delivery services depending on the area.

5. San Pablo Farmacia

San Pablo Farmacia is especially well known in Mexico City and the surrounding metropolitan area, where many of its larger branches combine a wide medication selection with extended opening hours and additional health and personal-care departments. The online pharmacy carries everyday prescription and non-prescription medicines together with dermatology, baby care, nutrition, medical equipment and other healthcare products, so the range is closer to a full-service health retailer than a small neighborhood drugstore.

Another advantage is accessibility. A number of San Pablo locations operate around the clock, which has made the chain a familiar option for customers who need a pharmacy outside normal business hours.

6. Farmacias YZA

Farmacias YZA has grown into a large Mexican network with more than 1,500 branches and a presence across many parts of the country, including Baja California, Baja California Sur, Sonora, Sinaloa, Jalisco, Nuevo León, Ciudad de México, Veracruz, Yucatán and several other states. Its stores carry patent medicines, generics and private-label products, while many branches also add medical offices, home delivery, drive-through service or extended hours.

The chain is particularly convenient for customers who prefer several ways to shop instead of relying only on a physical counter, because online purchasing and store pickup are available in participating areas.

7. Farmacias Roma

Farmacias Roma is a very different kind of network from the large nationwide chains because its history and strongest presence are closely connected with Baja California. The company opened its first branch in downtown Tijuana in 1964 and has since expanded to around 140 locations, with stores concentrated in the main cities of the state. This border-region presence has made the name especially familiar to customers who regularly travel between Mexico and the United States.

The network can be found in:

  • Tijuana
  • Mexicali
  • Ensenada
  • Tecate
  • Rosarito

Many locations operate 24 hours and offer both generic and branded medicines, while INMÉDICA medical offices are located alongside numerous Roma branches.

8. Farmacias Klyns

Farmacias Klyns began as a regional pharmacy business in the 1990s and developed from its first two branches into a network of more than 40 points of sale. It remains much smaller than the largest Mexican chains, but that regional scale is also part of its character, with a catalog focused on pharmacy products rather than trying to become a nationwide general retailer.

Its main categories include:

  • Patent medicines
  • Generic and OTC medicines
  • First-aid and medical equipment
  • Vitamins and supplements
  • Dermatology products

9. Farmacia del Niño

The name Farmacia del Niño can give the impression that the business is limited to pediatric medicines, but its current catalog is considerably broader. The online pharmacy lists thousands of products covering adult and pediatric treatment, prescription and OTC medicines, gastrointestinal care, respiratory products, antihistamines, analgesics, dermatology, vitamins and supplements, with listings from both Mexican and international pharmaceutical manufacturers. Many product pages also show practical details such as the active ingredient, concentration, presentation, laboratory and country of origin, which makes the catalog useful when comparing different Mexican-market options.

10. Independent Pharmacies Meeting COFEPRIS Requirements

Mexico also has a large number of independent pharmacies that operate outside the major national and regional chains, and these businesses can be particularly useful in cities where local distributors carry manufacturers or package presentations that are harder to find through larger retailers. An independent pharmacy is not automatically less reliable simply because it has only one or several locations, but it should operate under the sanitary requirements that apply to its type of establishment.

Farmacia Mérida – Yucatán

Located in the historic center of Mérida, Farmacia Mérida is much closer to the traditional neighborhood-pharmacy format than to a national retail chain. Its location near Parque Santa Lucía makes it easy to reach from the central part of the city, and the pharmacy serves both local residents and visitors looking for medicines and ordinary health products without leaving the Centro area.

Location: Calle 57 No. 507, Parque Santa Lucía, Centro, Mérida, Yucatán, C.P. 97000

Farmacias Guelaguetza – Oaxaca

Farmacias Guelaguetza represents the more local side of the pharmacy market in Oaxaca, with neighborhood locations serving customers who prefer a regional business instead of one of the country’s largest chains. The pharmacy carries everyday medicines and pharmacy products, while its smaller scale gives it a noticeably different character from the supermarket-style formats that have become common elsewhere in Mexico.

Oaxaca location: Av. Ferrocarril 101, Col. José Vasconcelos, Oaxaca de Juárez, Oaxaca

Farmacia Alay – Puebla

Farmacia Alay operates in Palmarito Tochapan, Puebla, where its pharmacy business is built around a much more community-oriented format. The company currently has two pharmacy locations and combines medicine sales with medical offices and several practical local services, so a customer can find more than a conventional pharmacy counter in the same neighborhood.

Its format includes:

  • Pharmacy and everyday health products
  • Medical consultation at the pharmacy locations
  • Home delivery
  • A small convenience-store section
  • Remote medical orientation

Main location: Av. Morelos 108, Col. Centro, Palmarito Tochapan, Quecholac, Puebla

Farmacia Plaza El Jacal – Querétaro

Farmacia Plaza El Jacal is a neighborhood pharmacy inside Plaza El Jacal in Santiago de Querétaro, serving the surrounding Casa Magna and El Jacal area. It combines the pharmacy with access to a medical office, which gives the location the familiar Mexican model where basic outpatient care and the pharmacy counter are available very close to each other.

Address: Blvd. Hacienda del Jacal 953, Local 11, Casa Magna, Santiago de Querétaro, Qro., C.P. 76910
Phone: 442 712 9965

N+P Dermatological Pharmacy – Guanajuato

Not every independent pharmacy tries to cover every area of medicine. The pharmacy connected with N+P Nutrición y Piel in León is built specifically around dermatology, sitting next to the clinic and carrying products used for skin, hair and related treatment needs. This gives it a very different role from an ordinary neighborhood drugstore, especially for customers who are looking for dermatological brands or products connected with an existing treatment plan.

Specialty: dermatological products and dermocosmetics
Location: Av. Guanajuato 1026, Col. Jardines del Moral, León, Guanajuato
Pharmacy phone: 477 329 2353

Farmacia La Popular – Michoacán

Few local pharmacies on this list have a history as long as Farmacia La Popular in Morelia. The business dates back to 1911 and has remained part of the city’s pharmacy market for more than a century, while its current selection extends well beyond basic everyday medicines into dermatology, diabetes products, patent medicines, specialty treatments and other pharmaceutical lines.

Address: Obrajeros de Nurio 215-A, Col. Vasco de Quiroga, Morelia, Michoacán, C.P. 58230
Phone: 443 314 3153

Farmacias Central – San Luis Potosí

Farmacias Central is a good example of a local pharmacy business that has grown into several more specialized formats without becoming a large nationwide chain. Its locations in San Luis Potosí include a regular discount pharmacy, a specialized pharmacy and services connected with orthopedic and medical products, so the business is able to cover needs that go beyond the usual retail medicine counter.

  • Farmacia Central de Descuento: Av. Himno Nacional 120, Local 9, Col. Virreyes
  • Farmacia Central Especializada: Av. Venustiano Carranza 2325, Int. 26, Col. Polanco
  • Carranza location: Av. Venustiano Carranza 2376, Col. Polanco

THE BIG PHARMA – Chihuahua

THE BIG PHARMA in Chihuahua keeps the smaller neighborhood-pharmacy model but adds a medical office at the same location, which can be practical for customers who want a consultation and pharmacy access without visiting two separate businesses. The pharmacy also keeps comparatively long opening hours during the week, making it closer to an everyday community health point than a highly specialized retail store.

Address: Calle 20 de Noviembre 306, Col. Santa Rosa, Chihuahua, Chihuahua, C.P. 31000
Phone: 614 658 6268

Super Farmacia Roma – Veracruz

Super Farmacia Roma is rooted in the southeast of Veracruz and has developed as a regional pharmacy business instead of expanding into a national chain. Its offer combines patent medicines, generics and similar medicines with home delivery and several everyday retail categories, including perfumery and basic convenience products. That mix is common in smaller Mexican cities, where the local pharmacy often remains a place for several everyday errands rather than only a counter for prescriptions.

Based in: San Andrés Tuxtla, Veracruz
Main location: Av. Benito Juárez 201, Centro, C.P. 95700

Botica La Fe – Nuevo León

Botica La Fe in central Monterrey is perhaps the most traditional example in this group. The business keeps the older Mexican botica concept alive, where the shelves are not limited to factory-packaged medicines and ordinary personal-care products, but can also include preparations, pharmaceutical ingredients, oils, herbal products and other items associated with the classic pharmacy and droguería model.

Together With Our Pharmacy Partners

Working with several established pharmacies across Mexico gives Meds World Mexico access to a much wider pharmaceutical market than would be possible through one location alone. Stock changes constantly, some manufacturers are stronger in one region than another, and the same active ingredient may be sold in several different package sizes or under different brand names, so having more than one pharmacy source gives us more room to find the product a customer actually needs instead of stopping at the first unavailable listing.

More choice when one pharmacy is out of stockA medicine that is unavailable through one chain may still be on the shelf somewhere else, sometimes even in the same city. This becomes especially useful with less common strengths, specialty products, specific manufacturers and medicines that disappear from normal retail stock for short periods. Instead of depending on one catalog, we can compare availability across several pharmacy partners and regional sources.

Access to different manufacturers and product versionsThe Mexican market is not built around one manufacturer for every medicine. Large chains may carry one brand, while a regional or independent pharmacy has another version of the same active ingredient, and some pharmacies are simply stronger in certain treatment areas than others. For customers, this means more opportunities to find the required strength, dosage form or manufacturer without having to search the Mexican market on their own.

Better coverage across different parts of MexicoThe pharmacies listed above are not all concentrated in one region. Some operate nationwide, while others are particularly strong in Baja California, central Mexico, the southeast or individual cities. This wider geographic coverage matters because pharmaceutical distribution in Mexico is not identical everywhere, and regional pharmacies can sometimes have access to products that are difficult to find through the largest chains.

Price can differ from one source to anotherThe same medicine does not always have the same retail price throughout Mexico. Manufacturer, package size, regional stock and pharmacy promotions can all affect what a product costs at a particular time. Working with several pharmacy sources gives Meds World Mexico a broader view of the market instead of tying every customer to the price and availability of one pharmacy.

Our Partner Pharmacy Workflow

A pharmacy does not become part of our network simply because it has a large catalog or an active website. Before we begin working with a new pharmacy source, we first need to understand who is behind the business, how the pharmacy operates and whether the medicines supplied through it can be clearly identified as products intended for the Mexican market.

A pharmacy partnership usually starts with these checks:

  1. Identifying the pharmacy. We first confirm that the business itself can be clearly identified, including its operating name, location and the basic information connected with the pharmacy.
  2. Reviewing how the pharmacy operates. The next step is understanding whether it functions as a normal pharmacy business and whether its activities fit the requirements that apply to that type of establishment in Mexico.
  3. Looking at the medicine source. We need to know that the products supplied through the pharmacy come through an established pharmaceutical route and are presented as medicines for the Mexican market.
  4. Checking the product information. The medicine should have the identifying details normally expected for that product, including the manufacturer, strength, lot or batch information, expiration date and other labeling where applicable.
  5. Confirming that the product can be identified consistently. Before a pharmacy becomes a regular source, the medicine supplied through it needs to correspond with the product being represented, without unexplained differences in strength, presentation or manufacturer information.

The relationship itself can still look very different from one pharmacy to another. A national chain already has its own purchasing, distribution and branch structure, while a smaller regional pharmacy may work much more directly with local distributors and manufacturers. We do not expect every partner to operate in exactly the same way; what matters is that the pharmacy can be clearly identified, the medicines supplied through it can be traced through the information on the product, and the business operates within the requirements that apply to its pharmacy activity in Mexico.

More Options for Customers

For the customer, the main advantage is fairly simple: more pharmacy sources create more options when one product is unavailable, when a specific manufacturer is needed or when the same medicine is sold in several different presentations.

Working with a wider pharmacy network can give customers:

  • More ways to find the medicine they need. If one pharmacy does not have the product, another source may still have the same active ingredient, strength or presentation available.
  • Access to different manufacturers. The same medicine may be sold in Mexico by several pharmaceutical companies, which gives customers more than one option when a particular brand is unavailable.
  • More regional inventory to check. Large national chains, regional pharmacies and smaller independent sources do not always carry the same stock.
  • More package and product options. Different pharmacies may carry another package size, dosage form or market presentation of the same medicine.
  • A clearer way to compare what is available. Customers can ask about the product, manufacturer, strength and presentation before the order moves forward instead of searching through several pharmacy websites on their own.

Not every pharmacy listed on this page is involved in every order. One medicine may be easy to find through a national chain, while another is more readily available through a regional or independent pharmacy, so the source can differ depending on the product being requested.
